Yes, it's been over a year since I've posted, but we've been doing some updates on our home!

I first have to say that I LOVE our little home. The kitchen is very open, its a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath, and it is extremely affordable! When we first got married and purchased it, it had recently been updated in many areas (forced air/heating was replaced, new carpet, appliances, kitchen, and even plumbing and electricity) But some smaller things were left from the 70's when this was built, such as the closets and built in dressers; Small projects that poor college kids like us can handle! I am truly blessed to have a husband who loves home improvement projects as much as I do. It's a time where families work together to not only literally build a strong home, but metaphorically as well. I am grateful for his experiences he had when he was younger to build homes and for his parents raising him to be so motivated to improve. It has really shaped his character in every aspect of his life, and I feel I am the luckiest girl alive! Anyway, no more sappy words, here are some pics of this past year...

We decided to paint our hallway (to the right of the kitchen) a lighter color than what it was to make it feel more open, but I didn't like how it would just come to a halt when it got to our kitchen. So we "combined" the kitchen and the hallway by painting stripes on the adjacent wall! I am very pleased with the outcome. Yes, I am aware that this clock is not centered. I quickly changed that, I promise!

Our outdated coat closet:

I really felt like the rod wasn't taking advantage of how deep this closet is! So much wasted space...

NEW!

I love my little ironing board hooks :) Thank you, Pinterest...

All of our coats back in place. Still have to finish painting the shelf that will rest on the top, but I was just so excited to share!

Our dishwasher, Thanks to the oh so amazing hubby! To be honest, I think I am more excited that we have a disposal now more than the dishwasher...

And then of course, this cheap and simple update really made a difference! I didn't get a chance to grab a "Before" picture. Usually I get so excited to do a project that I forget, but in this case Josh saw a picture of it online and decided to surprise me when I got home from work! It looks 1,000x's better!
